Position Summary

The Director of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) is responsible for leading the strategy, governance, optimization, and ongoing management of the organization's HR technology ecosystem. This role serves as the primary leader for HR systems, data governance, reporting, analytics, integrations, security, and process automation, ensuring technology solutions support business objectives and enhance the employee experience.

The Director will partner closely with HR, IT, Payroll, Finance, Compliance, and business leaders to drive system improvements, process efficiencies, and digital transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate has deep expertise with the Workday platform and experience leading HR technology teams in complex, multi-functional organizations. Experience with ServiceNow HR Service Delivery and workflow automation is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the HRIS strategy and technology roadmap aligned with organizational goals, HR priorities, and digital transformation objectives.
  • Lead Workday administration, configuration governance, release management, optimization, enhancements, and implementation of new functionality.
  • Partner with HR Centers of Excellence to improve business processes across Core HCM, Recruiting, Talent, Learning, Compensation, Benefits, and Absence Management.
  • Collaborate with HR Operations and IT to streamline HR service delivery, including use of ServiceNow for case management, employee inquiries, knowledge management, workflow automation, and self-service improvements.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, automation opportunities, and AI-enabled HR solutions to increase efficiency and enhance the employee and manager experience.
  • Establish HR data governance standards, ensure data quality across HR systems, and lead reporting, analytics, dashboards, metrics, and KPIs that support workforce insights and business decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with employment regulations, data privacy laws, internal controls, system security requirements, role-based access controls, and audit readiness in partnership with IT and compliance stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive HRIS or HR technology experience.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing HRIS teams, programs, or enterprise HR technology functions.
  • Deep expertise administering and optimizing Workday in a complex organizational environment.
  • Experience leading large-scale HR technology implementations, upgrades, or transformation initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of HR business processes, data governance, reporting, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills.

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $133,140.80 - $191,588.80 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
