Director, contract management

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Contract Management based in United States.

This remote leadership role oversees contract management and compliance activities across multiple Federal Government programs. You will provide strategic direction and operational oversight across contracts, subcontracts, procurement, small business commitments, and ethics and compliance. The position requires deep knowledge of federal acquisition regulations and the ability to translate complex contractual requirements into effective operational practices. You will work closely with stakeholders to ensure programs remain compliant with contractual, regulatory, and organizational obligations. The role combines senior-level leadership with responsibility for maintaining strong governance across a broad federal contracting portfolio. You will help strengthen contract administration, procurement oversight, compliance processes, and subcontract management.

This is a full-time remote opportunity with occasional travel for training or meetings.

Accountabilities:

• Lead contract management, compliance, subcontract administration, procurement oversight, and ethics and compliance functions across multiple Federal Government programs.
• Provide strategic direction and operational oversight to ensure contracts and subcontracts are administered in accordance with applicable contractual, regulatory, and organizational requirements.
• Oversee purchasing activities and procurement processes while maintaining appropriate compliance and governance standards.
• Guide the administration and monitoring of small business commitments and related federal program requirements.
• Ensure contract management practices align with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and applicable government contracting requirements.
• Oversee change order proposal activities and ensure submissions and processes meet applicable contractual requirements.
• Support effective management of government contracting risks, compliance obligations, and operational requirements across assigned programs.
• Provide leadership and direction to teams and stakeholders involved in contract administration, compliance, procurement, and related functions.
• Maintain a high level of operational discipline and accountability across the contract management lifecycle.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• At least 10 years of experience in Federal Government contracting.
• At least 5 years of leadership experience.
• U.S. Citizenship is required due to Department of Defense contract requirements.
• Ability to successfully receive interim approval for a government security clearance through the National Background Investigation Service (NBIS).
• Must hold at least one of the following certifications: Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting (FAC-C), Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA), Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM), or Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM).
• In-depth knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
• Strong knowledge of Small Business Program Requirements.
• Strong knowledge of Change Order Proposal Requirements.
• Demonstrated leadership, strategic thinking, operational judgment, and ability to manage complex federal contracting environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work across multiple programs and functions.
• Must reside outside Puerto Rico, as the applicable government contract does not permit work to be performed from Puerto Rico.
• Ability to work remotely from a dedicated, interruption-free workspace.
• Home internet service must provide at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds.
• Ability to travel occasionally for training or meetings.

Benefits:

• Full-time remote position with nationwide U.S. eligibility, excluding Puerto Rico due to contract requirements.
• Annual base salary range of $168,000–$231,000, with actual compensation determined by factors including geographic location, skills, knowledge, experience, education, and certifications.
