Position Summary
The ServiceNow Quality Assurance Analyst ensures the reliability, performance, and functional accuracy of ServiceNow platform solutions across all stages of the development lifecycle. Embedded within a DevOps team, this role bridges manual testing expertise with automated testing capabilities, helping the team deliver high-quality releases at speed. The QA Analyst works closely with developers, administrators, and business stakeholders to define test strategies, execute test plans, and uphold quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scripts for ServiceNow configurations, customizations, and integrations.
- Build and maintain automated test suites using ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF), covering UI flows, business rules, integrations, and regression scenarios.
- Validate functional requirements against delivered solutions, identifying defects and working with development teams to drive resolution.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, performance, and user acceptance testing (UAT) across ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, CSM, and other ServiceNow modules.
- Integrate ATF test suites into CI/CD pipelines to enforce quality gates before code promotes to production.
- Review Update Set contents, Flow Designer flows, and script changes for testability, completeness, and adherence to standards.
- Manage defects through the full lifecycle using Jira, Azure DevOps, or the ServiceNow platform itself; provide clear, reproducible defect documentation.
- Collaborate with the ServiceNow Database Developer and platform administrators to validate data migrations, transforms, and import sets.
- Contribute to platform upgrade and patch validation efforts; execute upgrade readiness testing plans.
- Produce QA metrics, dashboards, and release readiness reports for stakeholders.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, contributing quality perspective to sprint planning and retrospectives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of QA experience, with at least 2 years focused on ServiceNow platform testing.
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow ATF (Automated Test Framework).
- Solid understanding of ITIL service management processes and ServiceNow ITSM module behavior.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience with defect tracking tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar).
- Working knowledge of JavaScript sufficient to read and assess ServiceNow scripts.
Preferred Qualifications
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) or Certified Application Developer (CAD).
- Experience with API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured, or similar) for validating ServiceNow integrations.
- Familiarity with performance testing tools and load testing concepts.
- ITIL v4 Foundation certification.
- Experience with test management platforms (TestRail, Zephyr, qTest).
