DevOps Engineer - Senior

Certification: SAFe Agile certification or an industry-recognized equivalent certification.

Clearance / Background Investigation IT-II eligibility/clearance OR a current NACLC at the time the proposal is submitted. NACLC = National Agency Check with Law and Credit, an older federal background-investigation designation.

Cloud Certification (CSP) Must hold an applicable Cloud Service Provider (CSP) certification. Examples: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect (Azure SA) DoD 8570 Certification Must hold CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification

Position Summary Nationwide IT Services, NIS, is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to help teams develop new software solutions and refactor existing monolithic applications into microservices running in hardened containers, for a potential opportunity.

The engineer guides application teams in using DevSecOps continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, deploys and sustains a microservices factory using commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and open-source solutions, and supports implementations across on-premises and cloud environments. This role supports all task areas.

Key Responsibilities Guide application development teams as they refactor existing applications or create solutions that use DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines and tools. Define and oversee the strategy and architecture for continuous integration, deployment, and monitoring across technologies. Deploy and sustain a microservices factory using COTS and open-source tools and hardened containers. Lead DevOps practices and support the use of SAFe Agile methods for large-scale client environments. Implement test-driven development (TDD) practices and drive an automated software development lifecycle toolchain. Engineer complex technology implementations in a product-centric environment, including deployments on-premises and in the cloud. Use scripting or basic programming to automate work and solve technical problems. Apply configuration management and containerization tools appropriate to the project environment.

Required Qualifications At least five years of Agile experience. Demonstrated experience leading DevOps methodologies and defining SAFe Agile methodology for large-scale clients. Experience driving CI/CD and monitoring strategy and architecture across technologies. Experience implementing TDD methodologies and driving an automated software development lifecycle toolchain. Experience deploying solutions in both on-premises and cloud environments and engineering complex implementations in a product-centric setting. Experience with DevOps services using infrastructure-as-a-service providers such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Compute Engine, or RackSpace/OpenStack. Scripting or basic programming skills are used to solve technical problems. Experience with configuration management tools such as TFS, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Salt, or LVM. Familiarity with containerization technologies such as LXC, Docker, Rocket, or OpenShift. CSP certification, such as AWS DevOps Engineer or Azure SA. DoD 8570 certification, such as Security+.

Salary range $120,000 to $175,000 annually The salary range is a general guideline. We consider several factors when determining base salary offers, including the position's scope and responsibilities, the candidate's experience, education, and skills, and current market conditions.
