This is an opportunity to apply your subject-matter expertise and teaching experience to the development of high-quality learning resources used by students preparing for the MCAT. The ideal consultant is an excellent scientific writer and educator who can translate complex biochemistry concepts into accurate, approachable, and instructionally effective content.
What You’ll Do
As a Biochemistry Content Developer, you will contribute to the development and refinement of educational materials, with a particular focus on MCAT Biochemistry and related Chemistry topics. Depending on project needs, your work may include:
- Creating original exam-style questions and answer explanations for UWorld's digital MCAT Biochemistry question bank
- Developing digital and print educational materials, including:
- Video lecture slides and scripts
- Educational flashcards
- Biochemistry and Chemistry review books and study guides
- Other curricular materials as needed
- Ensuring content is accurate, clear, and aligned with applicable MCAT content specifications and educational objectives
- Applying sound instructional principles to make complex scientific concepts accessible to students
- Reviewing and refining existing content, incorporating editorial and subject-matter feedback
- Responding to content feedback and making revisions to ensure materials remain accurate, precise, and instructionally effective
- Collaborating remotely with editors, illustrators, and other content professionals throughout the development and review process
- Maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of UWorld's proprietary educational materials
What You’ll Bring
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in Biochemistry, Biological Chemistry, or a related biomedical science field; PhD preferred
- Demonstrated experience writing, editing, or reviewing academic or instructional content
- 2+ years of teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level
- 2+ years of scientific research experience
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to explain complex scientific concepts clearly
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience writing multiple-choice questions, answer explanations, or test-preparation materials
- Experience with instructional design, curriculum development, or educational content development
- Familiarity with the MCAT and its content specifications
- Experience developing educational materials for digital learning platforms
