SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES

To follow the policies and procedures of South State Bank exercising competency, courtesy and concern for the development of the bank. Responsibilities for consumer loan real estate underwriting and review activities to ensure that proposed loans adhere to existing policy guidelines, that documentation is adequate to ensure security of collateral, and that ongoing administration and review is adequate to maintain the consumer loan portfolio’s quality and profitability.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Underwrite consumer real estate loans within prescribed time frames.
  • Available for pre-qualification discussion with lender, prior to loan submission.
  • Responsible for reviewing and making approval decisions with respect to loans within his/her authority.
  • Analyze tax returns and prepare cash flow analysis.
  • Responsible for performing review of valuation methods to include tax assessments, appraisals and Automated Valuation Models.
  • Presents a neat and professional personal appearance, in accordance with bank policy.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Education: Bachelors in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field preferred
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in Banking
  • Knowledge: Good interpersonal skills, good computer skills, ability to read, write, speak and understand English

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS/CLASSES

New Employee Training Required annual compliance training.

RECOMMENDED ADDITIONAL TRAINING

Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, reports.

TRAVEL

This position does not require travel.

Salary Ranges:

$49,863.00 - $79,653.00
