Reveille Group is a strategic advisory consulting firm with offices in Washington, DC. We are focused on providing our diverse clients with innovative solutions including technical analysis and development. We are looking to bring on an integral team member to provide support for an existing project. You will function as a Communications Specialist for a federal agency. Please note this is a remote position, and you must be in the contiguous United States available to travel to DC and other locations on occasion/as needed.

Role Description

The Communications Specialist will support a federal agency communications program that aligns messaging across the enterprise and strengthens change management, stakeholder engagement, and cross-agency collaboration. The specialist will turn complex program and acquisition information into clear, accurate, accessible communications for employees, leaders, customers, partners, media audiences, and the public. This role is hands-on and deadline-driven. The successful candidate will draft and edit communications products, coordinate reviews and approvals, support executive and stakeholder engagements, maintain digital content, and help measure communications performance. All work must meet federal quality, privacy, records management, branding, and Section 508 accessibility requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, edit, and quality-check communications products such as fact sheets, one-pagers, announcements, talking points, reports, briefing materials, presentations, web content, intranet content, and stakeholder correspondence.
• Support strategic communications plans by identifying audiences, communications objectives, key messages, channels, milestones, risks, and measures of effectiveness.
• Develop clear messages for diverse audiences while maintaining consistency with priorities, branding, and approved messaging.
• Prepare executive-ready briefing materials and presentation content; incorporate leadership feedback quickly and accurately.
• Support organizational change initiatives, including policy changes, technology implementations, workforce initiatives, restructuring, and culture programs, through targeted communications and engagement activities.
• Coordinate stakeholder outreach, customer engagements, industry or outreach events, workshops, leadership forums, roadshows, offsites, internal forums, and All Hands communications.
• Develop agendas, meeting materials, notes, action items, and follow-up communications, and maintain organized records of decisions and approvals.
• Create and maintain content for websites, intranet sites, SharePoint, and other digital communications platforms; support content migration, information architecture, user experience, and accessibility improvements.
• Assist with external communications, including social media content and press-release support, while ensuring that all public-facing materials complete required Government review and approval before release.
• Conduct media and communications monitoring; compile recurring reports and summarize relevant trends, risks, stakeholder feedback, and emerging issues.
• Track deliverables, deadlines, engagement activity, and communications metrics; contribute to status reports, dashboards, customer satisfaction assessments, and continuous improvement recommendations.
• Provide responsive support for routine, urgent, and occasional surge communications needs while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and sound judgment.
• Coordinate with graphic design, multimedia, web, program management, and subject-matter experts to deliver publication-ready products.

Required Qualifications

• Three to five years of professional experience in strategic communications, public affairs, organizational communications, marketing communications, change communications, or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, English, public administration, or a related discipline; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• Demonstrated experience drafting and editing high-quality content for multiple audiences and formats, including senior-leadership materials.
• Strong writing, editing, proofreading, research, and information-synthesis skills, with careful attention to tone, accuracy, grammar, and detail.
• Experience managing multiple assignments, reviewers, and deadlines in a fast-paced client-service environment.
• Ability to translate complex, technical, policy, or operational information into concise and audience-appropriate language.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint or comparable collaboration and content-management tools.
• Working knowledge of digital communications, web content practices, and communications measurement or analytics.
• Ability to work effectively with Government personnel, contractor team members, subject-matter experts, senior leaders, and diverse stakeholder groups.
• Ability to satisfy all applicable federal suitability, onboarding, confidentiality, privacy, and information-handling requirements for the assignment.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

• Experience supporting a federal agency, public-sector organization, government contractor, or highly regulated environment.
• Experience with change management communications, employee engagement, executive communications, media monitoring, crisis communications, or event support.
• Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility, plain-language principles, federal records management, and formal content review and approval processes.
• Experience developing communications KPIs, dashboards, engagement reports, or data-informed recommendations.
