Basic Function

The Cash Applications Specialist is responsible for applying cash to open receivables while ensuring 100% accuracy and maintaining documentation.

Major Job Accountabilities

Cash Applications Functions

  • Work with appropriate 3rd party payment software to ensure payments are processed, daily
  • Research and resolve, within assigned scope, payments without posting instructions
  • Reconcile accounts receivable batches to bank deposit
  • As necessary, contact customers regarding payment discrepancies
  • Coordinate with supervisor and coworkers to ensure deadlines are met
  • Monitor and respond to inquiries sent to AR email
  • Process refunds to client and brokers
  • Process returned payments in 3rd party software and contact client regarding returned payment.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

A Bachelor of Science or Associate Degree in Accounting in business or related field required

Experience

Minimum one year experience of Accounts Receivable cash application preferred. Intermediate knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Excel required.
