ABB is Hiring an OEM Business Development Manager for Industrial Machinery, remote in the United States. This role is responsible for driving new business development with OEMs in the industrial machinery market across ABB’s Motion Drive Products portfolio, including drives and automation solutions. The position focuses on identifying and prioritizing target accounts, building and executing strategic growth plans, and partnering cross-functionally to increase market penetration and share of wallet in applications such as material handling, conveying, and food and beverage processing machinery. The ideal candidate brings strong OEM business development experience, technical knowledge of VFDs, micro drives, PLCs, and HMIs, and a proven ability to win business in competitive industrial markets.

The work model for the role is remote in the United States, supporting the ABB Motion Drive Products Division. This role involves 50-75% travel to key target customer accounts.

Your role and responsibilities:

• Drive new business development and solution sales for ABB’s Motion Drive Products portfolio with OEMs in industrial machinery segments, including variable frequency drives, micro drives, PLCs, and HMIs.
• Develop and execute 1–3 year growth strategies for targeted OEM accounts, identify and prioritize top prospects, map decision-makers, and expand ABB’s share of wallet within strategic accounts.
• Own account planning, pipeline development, forecasting, and CRM execution in Salesforce, while partnering closely with OEM Application Engineers, Industrial Channel, OEM Account Management, Product Management, and Marketing to win new business.
• Monitor industry trends, customer applications, and competitive activity to build differentiated value propositions, support contract negotiations, and translate market needs into actionable growth plans.

Qualifications for the role:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field and 8+ years of relevant experience, or an associate degree and 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Proven business development and sales experience in drives, motors, automation, or related industrial solutions.
• Demonstrated success hunting for new business, developing account strategies, and growing revenue in competitive OEM markets.
• Experience with ABB or comparable portfolios including VFDs, automation solutions, micro drives, PLCs, and HMIs.
• Knowledge of OEM business models and machinery applications such as material handling, conveying, and food and beverage processing machinery.
• Strong skills in Salesforce, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office, with excellent communication, negotiation, and strategic planning capabilities.
• Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US and be able to travel nationally as needed.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $100,500 and $160,800 annually and is bonus eligible.
