The Role

We're seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeping Assistant / Data Specialist to join our team. This role provides foundational experience in bookkeeping and accounting while allowing for professional growth in a supportive environment. You'll work alongside bookkeepers, accountants, and our data entry team. This role fits someone who wants to keep growing in accounting and bookkeeping roles.

Primary Responsibilities

• Download, organize, and securely store client financial statements
• Enter transactions accurately in QuickBooks Online and other accounting platforms
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
• Assist with basic financial review processes
• Save documentation according to company protocols
• Communicate with team members regarding client data
• Troubleshoot discrepancies and report to accountants

Required Qualifications

• Basic understanding of financial transactions and statements
• Excellent computer skills and ability to learn new software
• Professional written and verbal communication
• Ability to work independently while maintaining team connections
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive financial information
• Professional experience in finance or accounting, QuickBooks certifications, or college coursework in finance or accounting are a plus. This is an excellent opportunity for accounting students or grads looking for experience in their field

Work Environment

• 100% remote
• 20 to 40 hours per week (20-hour minimum)
• Flexible scheduling, with at least 70% of your hours worked between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM Mountain Time so you overlap with clients and teammates
• Applicants outside the US are not eligible for this position.
