Our software solves the most critical emerging grid integration challenges to ensure that the impending energy transition is clean, equitable, and resilient. Our enterprise solutions help the grid absorb the coming electrification wave with ease. Utilizing modern, cloud-native platform architecture and robust systems optimization, WeaveGrid’s software is built from the ground up to tackle the most critical network challenges while meeting the stringent regulatory, security, and reliability requirements of the utility industry.
WeaveGrid is seeking an Associate Director, Business Development & Strategic Partnerships to develop new business with electric utilities and build partnerships with automakers, EV charging companies, battery providers, and other distributed energy companies. Reporting to the VP of Market Development & Partnerships, this senior individual contributor will own a focused portfolio of high-priority utility and partner opportunities. You will identify and qualify opportunities, build relationships with senior decision-makers, develop compelling commercial and strategic value propositions, negotiate agreements, and help translate signed deals into successful launches and revenue. This role is well suited for someone who combines the consultative approach and persistence required for enterprise utility sales with the creativity and ecosystem thinking required for strategic partnerships. You should be comfortable creating new relationships, navigating complex organizations, structuring deals with multiple stakeholders, and remaining involved long enough to ensure that agreements produce meaningful results.
You have 7–10 years of experience in enterprise business development, strategic partnerships, corporate development, consultative sales, or a related field. You have personally originated, structured, negotiated, and closed complex B2B opportunities, ideally with electric utilities, automotive companies, EV charging providers, energy technology companies, or similarly complex enterprises. You are a strong commercial thinker who can translate market dynamics, customer needs, financial analysis, regulatory context, and technical considerations into a credible business case. You bring sound judgment to long and ambiguous deal cycles, including where to invest time, how to navigate competing stakeholders, when to escalate, and when to walk away. You are comfortable operating independently in a fast-moving environment while remaining highly collaborative with colleagues.
This role may be performed remotely within the United States. Candidates should have convenient access to a major airport and be comfortable traveling periodically for customer meetings, partner engagements, conferences, and internal gatherings.
The total compensation for this opportunity includes a base salary range of 135,200 - $169,000 plus equity in the form of stock options and benefits. This is our target compensation range and is subject to multiple factors, including role scope, level, relevant experience, performance expectations, and location. Please note that WeaveGrid may not necessarily hire individuals at or near the top of the base salary range, which is usually reserved for San Francisco, New York City, and Seattle candidates. During the interview process, our recruiting team will work with candidates to identify a competitive compensation package within the applicable range and combine it with an equity package.
