About the Role

Javvy is looking for a highly creative, hands-on Art Director to help shape and execute the next chapter of our visual brand.

We’re looking for a designer at heart—someone who can establish a strong creative vision, lead and develop a talented design team, and still jump into the work when needed. You’ll oversee creative across packaging, retail, ecommerce, product launches, photography, partnerships, and brand experiences while remaining close enough to the work to personally design and execute high-priority assets.

What You’ll Own

Creative Direction & Brand

• Help define and evolve Javvy’s visual identity across every consumer touchpoint.
• Translate brand strategy and GTM priorities into compelling creative concepts and scalable visual systems.
• Maintain and evolve brand guidelines as Javvy expands into new products, categories, partnerships, and channels.
• Lead creative reviews and provide clear, actionable feedback that raises the quality of the work.
• Ensure a cohesive brand experience across packaging, retail, ecommerce, social, photography, partnerships, and experiential.

Hands-On Design & Production

• Remain actively involved in design—not just creative direction.
• Personally concept, design, refine, or productionize priority projects across packaging, retail displays and POS, product mockups, partnerships, events, ecommerce, and launch assets.
• Own or oversee artwork through final production, including dielines, printer-ready files, digital and print proofs, and production revisions.
• Partner closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Regulatory, and external production partners to ensure creative is accurate, compliant, and production-ready.
• Maintain a high standard of craft while operating effectively within fast-moving timelines.

Packaging, Product & Omnichannel

• Lead visual development for new SKUs, flavors, formats, product categories, and brand partnerships.
• Develop packaging concepts that balance brand consistency, strong shelf presence, product communication, and consumer appeal.
• Guide packaging from initial concept through approved production artwork.
• Lead creative development across retail, DTC, Amazon, TikTok Shop, and other ecommerce channels.
• Oversee retail PDPs, shippers, displays, endcaps, shelf communication, signage, and other point-of-sale materials.
• Partner cross-functionally with Brand, Retail, Ecommerce, Product, Operations, and Regulatory to deliver creative against launch timelines.

Photography, Content & AI

• Establish visual direction for product photography, lifestyle imagery, and campaign content.
• Develop creative briefs and provide art direction for photographers and external creative partners.
• Guide AI-generated product and lifestyle imagery while maintaining brand consistency and quality.
• Identify opportunities to use emerging creative tools and AI to improve creative output and team efficiency.

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of brand and digital designers.
• Provide creative direction, thoughtful feedback, and hands-on coaching through regular creative reviews and 1:1s.
• Prioritize workloads and allocate projects based on business needs, timelines, and team strengths.
• Support hiring, portfolio reviews, onboarding, and development of creative talent.
• Help improve creative workflows, briefing processes, organization, and production standards as the team scales.

What We’re Looking For

• 7+ years of professional design experience, ideally within CPG, food & beverage, beauty, wellness, lifestyle, or another highly visual consumer category.
• 2+ years of experience providing art direction or leading designers.
• An exceptional portfolio demonstrating both strong conceptual thinking and hands-on execution.
• Deep experience in packaging and print design, including dielines, production artwork, prepress, proofing, and working with production partners.
• Experience designing for retail environments, including POS, displays, shippers, endcaps, and signage.
• Strong understanding of ecommerce and digital design, including PDPs, campaign assets, and omnichannel launches.
• Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
• Exceptional typography, layout, composition, color, and visual storytelling skills.
• Experience directing photography and external creative partners.
• Comfortable using—or eager to adopt—AI-powered creative tools as part of the modern design workflow.
• Ability to move fluidly between big-picture creative direction and detailed production execution.
• Strong project management and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple launches and collaborate across functions.
