Lead / Manager
FiXT is seeking an experienced, forward thinking A&R Manager who is passionate about discovering and developing artists, to join our team. We are mission-driven, artist-owned record label, setting out to empower artists to build sustainable careers in ways not previously possible to them, by putting a world class team around them, providing industry leading label services, and fostering lifelong fan relationships with a global audience.
This position's responsibilities include support for our current roster as well as scouting for new signings, managing production projects, budgets and deadlines, finding collaborators, delivering masters with supporting credits and documentation, researching emerging trends, and championing the label's music with internal and external teams. The position will report to FiXT's President / Co-Founder James Rhodes, as well as work closely with FiXT CEO/Founder Klayton (Celldweller). This role will also work frequently with FiXT's Distribution/Admin team and Marketing team to align release timing, metadata, and campaign planning around new and existing signings.
FiXT is an artist-owned, founder-led label. Klayton (Celldweller / Scandroid) built this company from his own catalog and career, and continues to lead it alongside President/Co-Founder James Rhodes. That matters for this role: we're not looking for an A&R Manager to sign volume or chase trends in isolation. We're looking for someone who takes the time to understand FiXT's history, Klayton's artistic vision, and the sound and culture Klayton & James have built for nearly 20 years, and who can operate inside that framework. At the same time, we're not looking to stand still. Part of this role is helping FiXT thoughtfully broaden into adjacent sonic territory beyond our current rock/metal/synthwave core, without losing what makes FiXT, FiXT. The right candidate sees the difference between “an interesting artist” and “the right artist for this label,” and can make that case to Klayton and James with real reasoning.
Success in this role means 8+ new signings per year that meet our sound/values bar.
FiXT's main label operations office is based in Burlington, Iowa (CST). Klayton is based in Detroit, Michigan (EST). We're looking for a US-based employee who is either willing to relocate to the Burlington, Iowa office, or based remotely with consideration given to candidates in a major Midwest market, including Chicago, Nashville, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Detroit, Indianapolis and similar cities.
Please submit your resume through this posting. In addition, we'd love to see a portfolio of previous signings you've championed, or a sample scouting report/artist pitch, so we can get a sense of your ear and your approach before we talk. Candidates who include this will be prioritized for review.
