This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Application & Technical Support Specialist III based in United States.

This is a fully remote, full-time opportunity combining technical expertise, customer support, product knowledge, and market development.

You will serve as a technical resource for refractory products and applications, helping customers solve complex operational challenges and make effective product decisions.

The role involves analyzing application requirements, refining lining designs and installation methods, and balancing technical solutions with customer business needs.

You will also contribute to product development, launches, technical marketing initiatives, and portfolio strategy.

The position offers broad exposure to customers, internal R&D teams, industry trends, and cross-functional projects.

Success requires strong analytical thinking, communication, presentation, and project management capabilities alongside hands-on knowledge of refractory applications.

You will play an important role in strengthening customer relationships while supporting market growth and the continued development of innovative product solutions.

Accountabilities:

• Serve as a technical expert on refractory products and applications, providing customers and internal stakeholders with informed advice and support to address inquiries, technical problems, and application needs.
• Provide internal and external training on products, applications, installation methods, and relevant technical practices.
• Collaborate with R&D teams on customer complaint investigations and failure analysis, ensuring effective information sharing, alignment, and resolution.
• Analyze complex application requirements and propose, modify, or refine lining designs and installation methods while balancing technical performance with customer business needs.
• Develop business cases for new product development initiatives and create, execute, and track product launch plans.
• Create and execute product promotions and technical marketing strategies aligned with business and market objectives.
• Maintain strong awareness of industry trends, training opportunities, and market forecasts to support informed commercial and technical decisions.
• Represent the organization at industry trade shows and seminars, including delivering technical presentations and engaging with industry stakeholders.
• Conduct market analysis and contribute to product portfolio analysis in support of market segment strategies.
• Support product rationalization initiatives, portfolio modifications, and shape standardization efforts.
• Coordinate projects across multiple departments, ensuring activities remain aligned with objectives, timelines, and business requirements.
• Maintain strong customer relationships by combining technical credibility, responsive support, and practical problem-solving.

Requirements:

• 4–6 years of professional experience in refractory technical marketing, research, quality assurance, sales, or a closely related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Ceramics, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of refractory products, installation methods, construction practices, and customer applications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to plan and deliver effective presentations to audiences at different organizational levels.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and business problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex technical and commercial situations.
• Demonstrated project management capabilities and the ability to coordinate initiatives involving multiple departments.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative, cross-functional team.
• Strong customer-facing communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts into practical solutions.
• Ability to work primarily in an office environment while occasionally operating around industrial conditions, including moving mechanical equipment, outdoor weather, elevated or precarious locations, heat, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, vibration, and moderate noise.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for limited periods and perform occasional standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, and other physical activities.
• Ability to meet visual requirements involving close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus.
