Job Description

About the project: We’re building and scaling solutions for a global non-profit organization focused on large-scale humanitarian impact. By joining this project, your work will directly support meaningful initiatives around the world.

We're looking for you if:

  • You have 3+ years of commercial experience with Python & Django.
  • You’re great at collaborating with clients, advising them on solutions, and building long-lasting relationships.
  • You have hands-on experience with asynchronous task processing using Celery and Redis.
  • You’re proficient with PostgreSQL database design, optimization, and RESTful APIs.
  • You know how to work with Docker and Elasticsearch for efficient search and containerization.
  • You have understanding of modern front-end technologies: React and TypeScript.
  • You speak and understand English at a B2+ level.
  • You can work on a B2B contract / freelance basis.

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and web app security best practices.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

Your daily tasks:

  • Developing high-quality backend systems and APIs (Python/Django) for our non-profit partner.
  • Building intuitive, dynamic web interfaces using React and TypeScript.
  • Designing and optimizing database structures (PostgreSQL) and search functions (Elasticsearch).
  • Managing background jobs, queues, and caching strategies using Celery and Redis.
  • Defining features, technical specifications, and architecture based on business requirements.
  • Participating in client meetings, advising on technical choices, and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Enhancing code quality through code reviews, automated testing, and fixing bugs. (No need to worry about slip-ups – our CI/CD won’t let any “DROP DATABASE production” happen 🙃).

Who we are? A global team with high standards - we maintain Silicon Valley quality and vibe, even though we have spread far beyond. We've made a real difference in the world since 2008! We deliver for Zoetis, Apple, Tesla, NATO, UNICEF, and many more. 100-people-sized A-Team in Wrocław, with other offices in Poland, UK and Ireland.

Clear recruitment process: Introductory meeting - we are a close-knit team, and getting to know each other is our priority! Technical screening with Senior Backed Engineer - after that stage, you won’t have any unanswered technical questions! A meeting with the Client - to get to know each other better and ensure we're aligned on values and expectations. This is a B2B freelance position. We operate on an hourly basis, and you will invoice us monthly for the hours you work.
