Position Summary
Covercraft Industries is seeking a Junior Graphic Designer to support the Creative Services team across digital, e-commerce and print work. This role helps the team deliver more, faster: resizing and formatting approved designs, preparing files and images, building assets from established templates, and keeping our asset library organized. Working collaboratively within the creative services team, the Junior Graphic Designer will build skills across every area of our creative work, with a path to grow into a Graphic Designer role. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, eager to learn, and comfortable handling a high volume of quick-turnaround tasks.
Core Responsibilities
- Resizing and adaptation: resize and adapt approved designs across sizes, channels and formats, including paid media, social, email, web and marketplace assets.
- File preparation and formatting: format and prepare files to specifications for digital, print and partner channels, following naming conventions and version control.
- Image preparation: clipping, background removal, precise vector path creation for product silhouettes, basic retouching, and color correction.
- Template-based production: build assets from established Adobe and Figma templates, such as email modules, sales sheet variants and trade show collateral.
- Marketplace and partner channel support: populate listing images and A+ content from approved templates, and prepare asset packages for distributor partners.
- Quick-turnaround updates: make text, pricing, promotion, date and logo updates to existing materials.
- Asset management: upload, tag and organize final assets in the digital asset library (Canto).
- Quality checks: proofread and check files against specifications before handoff.
- Team support: support the team’s designers and Multimedia Specialist during peak periods such as product launches, trade shows and seasonal campaigns.
- Execute production tasks strictly assigned by the Creative Director and Senior Designers via Jira, eliminating direct-channel requests to ensure daily volume targets are met.
AI-Assisted Design: Preferred Capability
- Act as the primary operator for high-volume generative AI workflows to scale asset production. Utilize AI features (e.g., Photoshop Generative Fill, Adobe Firefly) to rapidly execute background extensions, image variants, and product mockups.
- Judgment to recognize when AI-assisted output meets brand standards and when to ask for review.
Required Qualifications
- 0–2 years of graphic design experience, including internships, freelance or academic work.
- Working proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, with familiarity in InDesign.
- Understanding of design fundamentals, including layout, typography and color.
- Strong attention to detail and file organization, with the ability to follow specifications and brand guidelines precisely.
- Ability to manage multiple quick-turnaround tasks and to incorporate feedback.
- Portfolio demonstrating design work (academic, internship or freelance work welcome), this is a screening requirement; applications without portfolio examples will not be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or coursework in graphic design or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with Figma.
- Experience creating e-commerce, marketplace or social media assets.
- Photo retouching and clipping experience.
- Familiarity with digital asset management (DAM) systems and project management tools such as Jira.
- Interest in automotive, marine, outdoor or consumer products.
Don’t meet every qualification listed? We still encourage you to apply. We review candidates for the best overall fit with the team, and many skills in this role are learned on the job. A portfolio of design work is the one firm requirement.
