Internship / working student - automation & tooling for active safety (m/f/d)

YOUR TEAM

To support our Active Safety team, we are currently looking for an intern / a working student. In your role you get first-hand experience in the development of an automated evaluation toolchain for Active Safety Functions and will be an integral part of the team that works on predictive safety functions in field of ADAS, making traffic safer for everyone.

We develop and validate predictive safety functions in the field of ADAS — from first concept ideas to implementation, prototype testing and real-world vehicle validation. To further speed up and strengthen our development, we are looking for an intern / working student to support us in extending our automated evaluation toolchain for vehicle testing. You will become part of an interdisciplinary team that turns driving data into meaningful insights, improves the quality of safety functions and helps shape the future of mobility — hands-on, close to the vehicle and with visible impact.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Develop and maintain our automated evaluation toolchain for vehicle measurement data (Python)
• Implement testcases and analysis plugins that evaluate recorded driving data against requirements (e.g. UN R152 homologation criteria)
• Work on our data pipeline and cloud-based evaluation services on Azure
• Deliver your work end-to-end: pull requests, code reviews, tests and CI
• Collaborate with the team to align the toolchain with ongoing testing campaigns

WHO YOU ARE

• Enrolled student in the area of electrical/software engineering or computer science, robotics, physics or another related field
• Good understanding of how software is built and delivered: clean code and SOLID principles, Git/GitHub workflows (pull requests, code reviews, CI) and testing
• Good Python skills or any other programming language e.g. Rust, Java, ...
• Enthusiastic about AI-assisted development and coding agents (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot)
• Autonomous and reliable way of working, able to debug and solve problems independently
• Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory

Remote work options within Germany

Internship:

• Duration: 3 - 6 months
• 35 hours/week
• Salary: 13,90 €/hour

Working Student:

• Duration: 6 months (with the option to extend up to two years)
• 20 hours/week, up to 35 hours/week during the semester break
• Salary: 17,80€/hour
