Tax Accountant

Up to R 720 000.00 per annum | JHB East

Are you a detail-oriented Tax Accountant with a passion for international taxation, compliance and working across borders? An exciting opportunity has opened up for a French-speaking Tax Accountant to join a dynamic finance team based in Johannesburg East, taking responsibility for tax compliance across French-speaking African countries.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and submit monthly and annual tax returns across French-speaking African jurisdictions.
• Ensure accurate and timely tax compliance in accordance with relevant local tax legislation.
• Manage corporate income tax, VAT and other applicable statutory tax submissions.
• Liaise with tax authorities, external consultants and finance teams across multiple African countries.
• Monitor changes in tax regulations and assess their impact on business operations.
• Assist with tax reconciliations, provisions and financial reporting requirements.
• Support tax audits, assessments and queries from revenue authorities.
• Identify potential tax risks and opportunities for improved compliance.
• Maintain accurate tax records and ensure all statutory deadlines are met.

What We're Looking For:

• Relevant degree in Accounting, Finance or Taxation.
• 3–5 years' relevant tax accounting experience.
• Fluency in French is essential – non-negotiable!
• Experience with monthly and annual tax submissions.
• Exposure to taxation within French-speaking African countries will be highly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of tax compliance and statutory reporting.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work across different countries and cultures.
