Stores / inventory manager

When the right stock isn't available at the right time, production stops. That's why our client isn't just looking for someone to manage inventory, they're looking for someone who can keep an operation moving. Our client is a leading mining conglomerate, where operational excellence starts long before equipment reaches the mine. They're looking for an experienced Stores & Inventory Manager to take ownership of the stores function, ensuring inventory is accurately controlled, budgets are managed and materials are available when the business needs them. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys bringing structure to complexity, leading a team and making operational improvements that have a real impact on production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage stores and inventory function
• Control stock levels, consumables and inventory accuracy
• Oversee purchasing, receiving and issuing of stock
• Manage goods receipts and stock movements
• Drive inventory planning and budget control
• Monitor stock variances and improve inventory processes
• Lead and develop the stores team
• Ensure compliance with company procedures and inventory controls

Job Experience and Skills:

• Relevant Tertiary qualification preferred
• 5 to 10 years' experience in a similar role
• Mining industry experience is essential
• Proven management and leadership experience
• Sage experience
• Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Able to work in a fast-paced, operational environment
