Senior tax accountant

A well-established company based in Johannesburg East is seeking a highly driven and technically strong Senior Tax Accountant to join its finance team. This opportunity is ideal for a qualified accounting professional who has completed SAICA or SAIPA articles and gained solid exposure to tax within a corporate or professional services environment.

Company and Job Description: The successful candidate will be responsible for the full accounting function, while also ensuring the effective management of all tax-related matters. This role offers excellent exposure to both financial accounting and taxation, making it an ideal opportunity for a candidate looking to broaden their commercial experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the full accounting function from transaction processing through to financial reporting
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger reviews
• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE, and Income Tax returns

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• Completed SAICA or SAIPA Articles
• BCom Accounting, BCompt, or related Accounting Degree
• Minimum 5 years' post-article experience in accounting and tax
• Strong exposure to corporate tax, VAT, and statutory compliance
• Experience managing the full accounting function
