A well-established and growing organisation based in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join its finance team. This opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional who has completed their professional articles and gained solid commercial experience, and is now looking to take on greater responsibility within a dynamic business environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Manage the month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare annual financial statements
• Perform complex balance sheet reconciliations and maintain the general ledger
• Oversee VAT, PAYE, and other statutory submissions
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Support external audits and liaise with auditors
• Review and improve internal controls and financial processes
• Assist with financial analysis and business performance reporting
• Mentor and support junior finance staff where required
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies

Minimum Requirements

• BCom Accounting or related qualification
• Completed SAIPA, SAICA, or equivalent articles
• 3-5 years of accounting experience, including commercial exposure
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting and statutory compliance
• Experience preparing annual financial statements and management accounts
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
