Introduction

We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Full Function Senior Accountant with a completed degree who is eager to embrace an exciting international opportunity. This role is ideal for a finance professional with strong technical accounting skills, sound financial acumen, and the ability to manage the full accounting function independently.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage the full accounting function from source documentation through to final reporting.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial statements.
• Oversee general ledger maintenance and ensure accurate allocation of transactions.
• Perform monthly balance sheet, bank, supplier, customer, and intercompany reconciliations.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and debtor collections.
• Oversee cash flow management, forecasting, and working capital.
• Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for budget-versus-actual results.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition, expense allocation, and accruals.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and calculate depreciation.
• Prepare VAT, tax, and other statutory submissions in line with applicable legislation.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and prepare supporting schedules.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and financial regulations.
• Implement and monitor internal financial controls to safeguard company assets.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
• Prepare financial reports and provide insights to management to support business decisions.
• Monitor expenditure, investigate discrepancies, and recommend cost-saving measures.
• Manage payroll accounting and related reconciliations, where applicable.
• Liaise with auditors, banks, suppliers, customers, and other key stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure all supporting documentation is properly filed.
• Support strategic financial planning and contribute to the overall financial performance of the business.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Completed Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in a full-function accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, and financial controls.
• Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
• Must be willing to relocate internationally and return to South Africa once a year.
