Internal technical sales – instrumentation and automation

Do you have process-instrumentation knowledge and experience supporting customers throughout the technical sales cycle? I am building a network of Internal Technical Sales professionals in Cape Town. I specialise in connecting skilled technical sales professionals with organisations operating within process instrumentation, industrial automation and related engineering sectors.

I would like to engage candidates who understand field instrumentation and can translate customer requirements into accurate product selections and commercial proposals. Relevant experience may include preparing quotations, coordinating orders, following up on deliveries, supporting External Sales Representatives and developing existing customer accounts.

These opportunities are ideal for technically minded professionals who combine strong administration with commercial awareness and excellent customer service.

Education:

Matric National Diploma, N6 or Trade Test in Instrumentation and Automation

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• Three to five years’ technical or internal sales experience
• Knowledge of process and field instrumentation
• Exposure to flow, level, pressure, temperature or analytical instrumentation
• Experience preparing quotations and processing customer orders
• Ability to interpret technical requirements and recommend appropriate solutions
• Customer account management and relationship-building experience
• Upselling and cross-selling capability
• Strong administrative, planning and organisational skills
• Excellent telephone etiquette and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and customer relationship management systems
• SAP or Salesforce experience would be advantageous
• Practical instrumentation experience would be beneficial
• Valid driver’s licence
