Financial services manager

Are you an experienced finance professional with a strong background in shared services, financial operations, and team leadership? My client is seeking a dynamic Financial Services Manager to lead a large finance services function, ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and the delivery of high-quality financial support services across the business. This role is based in Springs, Johannesburg East.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing accurate, timely, and insightful financial information to stakeholders.
• Supporting the development and execution of medium-term business plans.
• Leading and managing the Financial Services team to meet agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Identifying and driving cost-saving and process improvement initiatives.
• Reviewing monthly reconciliations and reporting outputs to business units.
• Managing reporting requirements for auditors and other stakeholders.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with auditors, bankers, legal representatives, statutory bodies, and business partners.
• Ensuring compliance with financial regulations, governance requirements, and legislative changes.
• Supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities for system enhancements and process improvements.
• Monitoring cash flow forecasts and foreign exchange requirements.
• Providing leadership oversight of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cashbook, and Finance Administration functions.
• Managing, mentoring, developing, and motivating a large finance team.
• Driving continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and staff development initiatives.
• Assisting with ad hoc projects and operational requirements as needed.

Job Experience and Skills Required

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.
• SAICA Articles will be advantageous.
• Minimum 8 years' experience in a senior finance operations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or shared services management role.
• Experience managing large teams within a Shared Services environment will be highly advantageous.
• Proven track record in financial controls, process optimisation, and stakeholder management.
• Strong knowledge of financial operations and controls.
• Experience with ERP systems. JDE and Hyperion experience advantageous.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
