Financial operations manager

Our client is a listed services group based in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town and is looking for a Finance Operations Accountant to partner closely with operational teams across the business. This is more than a traditional accounting role. You'll gain exposure to branches and operational sites, support stock and financial controls, identify opportunities to improve processes, and use technology, including AI and automation, to make finance more efficient. Candidate Profile

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• BCom Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with CIMA being highly advantageous
• 3+ years' experience in commercial or operational finance, with completed articles also considered
• Strong experience across the full accounting function, month-end processes, reconciliations, controls, and stock management
• Proven exposure to AI and automation within finance, together with advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• A proactive and assertive approach with strong stakeholder management skills and a willingness to travel to operational sites

Key Responsibilities

• Manage month-end accounting, journals, reconciliations, and financial reporting across operational areas
• Partner with branches and operational teams to strengthen financial controls, stock management, and compliance
• Analyse financial and operational information to identify cost-saving and process improvement opportunities
• Use AI, automation, and technology to improve finance processes and operational efficiency
• Provide financial insights and analysis to management to support informed commercial decision-making
