Financial accountant | construction and projects

Join a growing and dynamic finance team. An exciting opportunity is available for a Financial Accountant to join a well-established and growing organisation based in the heart of Cape Town's City Bowl. This role is ideal for a candidate who has recently completed their SAIPA articles and has gained 1-2 years of post-articles commercial experience, looking to take the next step in their career within a professional, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain the general ledger
• Assist with month-end and year-end reporting processes
• Prepare annual financial statements
• Manage VAT calculations and submissions
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
• Liaise with auditors and support annual audit requirements
• Monitor cash flow and support treasury functions
• Ensure compliance with financial policies, controls, and statutory requirements
• Assist with process improvements and finance projects

Minimum Requirements

• BCom Accounting or related qualification
• Completed SAIPA Articles
• 1-2 years post-articles finance/accounting experience
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles
• Experience preparing management accounts and financial statements
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong attention to detail and analytical ability
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
