Electrical engineer

Education:

A Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) or Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Electrical Engineering and higher ECSA Registered (on track) PR Eng (on track)

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• BEng or BSc in Electrical Engineering.
• 2+ years' relevant electrical engineering experience.
• Experience in HV/MV power systems, substations, utilities, mining, renewable energy, EPC or industrial environments.
• Exposure to HV equipment, protection systems, switchgear and transformers.
• Understanding of electrical protection and power-system principles.
• Experience with electrical calculations and power-system studies will be advantageous.
• Ability to interpret and develop single-line diagrams and electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of applicable SANS, IEC and grid-code requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Excellent technical communication and reporting skills.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering and project teams.
• A strong focus on electrical safety, technical quality and engineering compliance.
