Assistant financial manager | it and telecoms

A well-established and growing organisation based in Sandton is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Financial Manager to join their finance team. This role is ideal for a technically strong accounting professional who is looking to take the next step in their career, supporting the Financial Manager across reporting, compliance, controls, and team leadership responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements

• Completed Articles (SAICA, SAIPA, or equivalent)
• 5+ years post-articles accounting experience
• Completed BCom Accounting Degree or Accounting Diploma
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, taxation, and financial reporting standards
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems
• Previous experience supervising or mentoring finance staff will be advantageous

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Financial Manager in overseeing the day-to-day finance function
• Prepare and review monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Manage month-end and year-end reporting processes
• Review reconciliations and ensure the integrity of financial data
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Ensure compliance with VAT, tax, and statutory requirements
• Support annual audits and liaise with external auditors
• Monitor and strengthen internal controls and financial processes
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decision-making
• Supervise, mentor, and develop junior finance team members
