Yield enhancement systems engineer

onsemi is seeking a Yield Systems Application Engineer to join the Corporate Yield Enhancement Systems team. This team supports front-end and back-end yield applications and methodologies for wafer fab and assembly/test operations and quality organizations. The role is expected to serve as the business partner to IT, quality, engineering and manufacturing organizations.

The team partners closely with the IT organization to establish data standards, integrate data into corporate yield databases, maintain data quality, and improve the effectiveness of onsemi yield tools.

Key Collaboration Areas

The candidate will work closely with IT, quality, product engineering, and manufacturing engineering teams to define, deploy, and continuously improve best practices within onsemi yield management infrastructure.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Performance Objectives:

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute in the following areas:

• Data integration and data quality: Partner with IT to improve material tracking, strengthen data quality and completeness, and simplify analysis of yield and manufacturing data across complex supply chains.
• Application and vendor management: Work with IT and yield solutions software vendors to identify and communicate onsemi analytics requirements and align upgrades with the vendor application delivery roadmap.
• Software solutions: Identify, design, implement, and improve software solutions that support manufacturing goals, including quality improvement, scrap reduction, product ramps, product/process transfers and technology development.
• Reporting and analytics: Gather reporting requirements to create static and automated reports using yield tools for the manufacturing, quality, product engineering and technology development teams.
• Analysis methods and best practices: Develop analysis techniques, templates, applications and best practices using yield tools to support engineering activity across organizations.
• Documentation and training: Create and maintain yield application documentation and deliver training for internal customers.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, Computer Science
• 5+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry.
• Familiarity with end-to-end semiconductor supply chain manufacturing processes & data, from substrate manufacturing through package assembly & test
• Experience leading engineering activities for projects involving data integration, data quality improvement, yield analysis, quality improvements (required)
• Experience with yield solutions architecture & design
• Familiarity with industry best practices for maximizing analytics efficiency using automation and intuitive solutions design
• Demonstrate effective use of collaboration tools such as Confluence and SharePoint
• Experience with database design and retrieval languages including Oracle, Snowflake, Databricks, MS-SQL.
• Familiarity with enterprise semiconductor yield analysis tools such as Exensio Yield, Optimal Plus, Klarity
• Familiarity with business intelligence tools (Spotfire [Preferred], Tableau, PowerBI)
• Familiarity with product lifecycle management tools such as Agile
• Familiarity of semiconductor test data log types such as STDF, Eagle test data logs, etc.
• Familiarity with IT development life cycle management and tools such as Jira, Git/Bitbucket, Azure DevOps
• Proficiency with programming and scripting languages such as Python, Perl, R, Java, BASH.
