We are seeking a passionate and experienced Veterinary Nursing Staff Supervisor to lead and inspire our Oncology Nursing Team. This is a unique opportunity for a veterinary professional who is committed to developing people, advancing patient care, and fostering a culture of excellence, integrity, and teamwork. As a hands-on working supervisor, you will maintain an active presence on the hospital floor, working alongside the oncology nursing staff while providing leadership, mentorship, and operational oversight. You will support a team across Medical Oncology, Surgical Oncology, and Radiation Oncology, partnering with faculty clinicians, house officers, students, and hospital leadership to ensure exceptional patient care while helping educate the next generation of veterinary professionals.

What You'll Do

As a working supervisor, you will balance leadership responsibilities with direct involvement in daily clinical operations. Working alongside the oncology nursing team, you will support patient care, coordinate workflow, mentor staff, and help resolve challenges in real time. Through visible leadership and active engagement, you will foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supervise daily operations through an active floor presence and direct support of clinical activities.
• Work alongside staff to provide high-quality nursing care and ensure efficient workflow.
• Serve as a real-time resource for staff and help resolve operational and patient care challenges.
• Coach, mentor, and support the professional growth and performance of veterinary nursing staff.
• Recruit, onboard, and train new team members.
• Collaborate with faculty, clinicians, and hospital leadership to support service goals.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational excellence.
• Model professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and exceptional patient care.

Schedule & Benefits

The Oncology Service operates Monday through Friday. This supervisory role may, on occasion, require working hours earlier than 8:00 a.m. or later than 5:00 p.m. based on operational needs. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position and is considered essential personnel. A post-offer education verification, background check, and health assessment are required.

Expected Salary:

$28 - $31 /hr

Preferred

• Credentialed veterinary technician (CVT/LVT/RVT) preferred
• Supervisory/Leadership Experience
