Join UF Health as a Respiratory Therapist II at our new UF Health Emergency and Urgent Care – Intracoastal, a freestanding emergency department (FSED) opening in January 2027.

In this PRN role, you will provide respiratory care and life-support services to patients experiencing a variety of cardiopulmonary conditions in a fast-paced emergency care environment. Working alongside physicians, nurses, and other members of the emergency care team, you will play an important role in assessing patients, administering respiratory treatments, managing airway and oxygen therapy, and supporting patients requiring advanced respiratory intervention.

The Respiratory Therapist II provides care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and clinical standards and may serve as lead therapist when assigned.

This is an exciting opportunity to join UF Health Jacksonville and be part of the team supporting respiratory care at a brand-new freestanding emergency department opening in January 2027 to serve the Intracoastal community.

Qualifications

Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups.

Required Education: Completion of an AMA approved School of Respiratory Therapy.

Preferred Education: Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy.

Necessary Skills:

• Ability to administer respiratory care and life support to patients with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies and abnormalities.
• Ability to act as lead therapist when assigned for all areas.
• When acting as a lead therapist, be able to provide NICU patient care (i.e., ventilator and Oxygen assessment).

Required Licensure/Certifications:

• Current State licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist from the Department of Health and State of Florida;
• Current BLS certification.

Required Experience: Less than 1 year - Critical care for ventilator management.

Preferred Experience: 3 or more years previous Respiratory Therapist experience in a major health care facility.
