Job Description

The Chandra Family Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Texas Austin has multiple faculty openings with a start date of Fall 2027 for tenure-track and tenured faculty positions. Candidates in all areas of electrical and computer engineering will be considered for tenure-track positions only, unless explicitly stated otherwise, especially as they align with the strategic focus of the department in: (i) Core/foundational AI; (ii) computer systems (tenured faculty candidates will also be considered for this area); and (iii) robotics and physical AI.

We are particularly interested in candidates who will contribute to supporting our student body through their teaching, research, and service. Successful candidates are also expected to contribute to and benefit from the department’s mission and values: be the driving force for education enabling individual student success, scientific discovery, and technical innovation in the service of social good; and be bold, innovative, and collaborative in their aims and endeavors, while valuing, appreciating, and welcoming individuals of all backgrounds and worldviews.

The Chandra Family Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin is also committed to addressing the family needs of faculty, including dual-career couples, families with children, and single parents.
