Job Summary:

The Dental Faculty Practice (DFP) is seeking a temporary Administrative Assistant to support the DFP front desk administrative operations in the Dental Faculty Practice. The School of Dental Medicine Dental Faculty Practice operates as a private practice for SDM faculty. The purpose of the work unit is to provide state-of-the-art dental services to patients of the Anschutz Medical Campus and general community through an education experience where Dental students deliver contemporary dental services. We are seeking professionals who are looking to develop their careers in clinical office administration and/or looking to gain experience and understanding of full-cycle dental patient life-cycles. The position is located at the University of Colorado - Anschutz Medical Campus. Hours will be dependent on business need but typically will be Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00 pm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Answer calls from patients to schedule, re-schedule, and cancel appointments in the DFP
• Call patients to schedule appointments as well as reminders for patients
• Intake patients as they come into the DFP, coordinating their appointments with providers
• Utilize Axium system to schedule and re-schedule appointments for the DFP based on provider availability and patient procedure needs.
• Collaborate with front desk staff and supervisor to ensure all appointments are done correctly and on time.
• Help with billing and collection for appointments and procedures based on standard protocols of the DFP.
• Assist and collaborate with other units as needed to provide backup and other administrative help.

Work Location:

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Two years of general clerical experience, which includes one year of experience working in a medical/dental environment.
• College or university course work, appropriate to the work assignment, may substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis but not for the one year of experience working in a medical/dental environment.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with faculty, staff, and students in a higher education environment
• Experience working in a dental or medical office environment
• Bilingual in English and Spanish

• Ability to organize workflow with particular focus on tracking patient care and improving patient flow.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The hiring range for this position has been established at: $25.00 to $30.00 / hour. The above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck. Temporary employees are only eligible for sick leave benefits.
