Job Summary:

Supermicro Computer, Inc. is currently seeking a Tax Manager. This position will assist with mainly indirect tax covering Sales and Use tax, VAT, GST, and WHT. The ideal candidate will report directly to the Senior Tax Manager. The Tax Manager will work with a dynamic finance team to perform a variety of Indirect tax functions. He/she is responsible to ensure meeting all filing tax deadlines and reporting requirements accurately. The candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. This position will be a member of the Finance team in the company’s headquarters located in San Jose, CA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

• Prepare and review states sale tax returns, and reconciliation of sales tax accounts for monthly close, book tax AJE to SAP
• Working on Vertex with IT to ensure software updates
• Reply and assist Sales team on tax questions, review and process the state tax exemption certificates, approve tax credit memo, working with customer’s sales tax, VAT questions
• Assist compliance reporting for Federal and State income tax (including estimates and extensions) to ensure all reporting obligations are filed accurately and timely
• Compute book-tax differences; prepare supporting tax return work paper and documentation
• Prepare State apportionment, States payments tracking and reconciliation
• Prepare other local taxes, annual reports filings, POA
• Manage tax audits includes income tax, sales & use tax IDR request, or tax notices
• Responsible SOX tax documentation controls
• Maintaining tax calendar
• Assist in other tax projects and initiatives

Qualifications:

BA/BS in Accounting, Finance and related field, Master of Taxation is preferred. CPA/EA is preferred. 8+ years of tax experience with public accounting and industry. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of management. Solid Excel skills.

Salary Range

$164,000 - $170,000. The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
