Position Summary:

Excel Sports Management is seeking a Staff Accountant with experience in finance, accounting, or other quantitative roles to support the financial team. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and self-motivated, with a passion for continuous process improvement. This person will be a key member of the operations team, assisting with all financial transactions across the company. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Processes new contracts, preparing invoices, assisting with vendor forms, and otherwise ensuring prompt and accurate payments to clients and the company;
• Responsible for recording cash receipts and follow up on outstanding Accounts Receivable;
• Records incoming and outgoing payments using our web-based accounting platforms;
• Onboards new clients, employees, and vendors in a timely manner to ensure seamless integration into our payment systems;
• Sends internal communication reminders to facilitate the resolution of outstanding payments, and takes initiative to follow up individually as needed;
• Support month and year-end closing and audit processes;
• Manages the 1099 process on behalf of Finance each year;
• Manage and track specific revenue streams including and not limited to management fees, events, etc.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree required;
• 2+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or applicable quantitative role;
• Experience in Accounting or Finance preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Highly advanced Microsoft Excel skills, strong working knowledge of other Microsoft Office Programs;
• Familiarity with accounting software preferred but not required;
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities;
• Able to build relationships, genuine connections and trust both internally and externally;
• Excellent communication skills;

The pay range for this position is: $65,000 per year - $75,000 per year. This position is also eligible for benefits and discretionary bonus.

Ultimately, the salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, business sector, and geographic location, among other criteria.
