Position Summary

The UNM Clinical & Translational Science Center (CTSC) is seeking a knowledgeable, detail-oriented Sr. Program Manager with leadership experience to join and lead a dynamic team and oversee staff operations for Telehealth Optimization of Primary Care in Rural Populations (TOP Rural), a multi-institution diabetes and hypertension study operated by the Primary Care--Building Research Integration in Different Geographic Environments (PC-BRIDGE) CARE for Health Network Research Hub.

The PC-BRIDGE Network Research hub is organized to be grounded in New Mexico’s long-standing CTSA and partnered with primary care practices in service of rural and underrepresented populations. PC-BRIDGE’s experienced team includes primary care clinical partners who are well poised to extend research participation opportunities to NM communities often underrepresented in clinical research, and to integrate those opportunities into the routine primary care clinical settings where people seek care. This team will be part of the national coordinated infrastructure as a primary care research hub.

TOP Rural is a national study jointly developed by CARE for Health, PC-BRIDGE, and HEART-NET and will recruit more than 900 participants across several states. This unique SMART trial will run for five years and be a part of PC-BRIDGE study operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of TOP Rural research and engagement activities.
• Coordinate with healthcare providers, researchers, and community groups to ensure successful project execution.
• Manage budgets, timelines, and resources; develop protocols and procedures, facilitate training and support for staff, and ensure compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.
• Work with PC-BRIDGE leadership to coordinate reports of study activities to appropriate CTSA, HSC, and NIH leadership as required.
• Establish and implement short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures. Monitor and evaluate team effectiveness and implement necessary changes required for improvement.
• Direct, manage, and oversee daily administrative components of TOP Rural.
• Design, establish, and maintain staffing and an organizational structure to effectively accomplish TOP Rural functions.
• Consult with multidisciplinary teams/researchers about TOP Rural and related activities, provide budgets, develop/maintain MOUs, invoice billable activities, and track/report/evaluate core activities.
• Serve as first point of contact for all community clinics and engaged community organizations.
• Plan and develop strategies to generate resources and/or revenue for projects; may prepare contract and/or grant proposals.
• Represent PC-BRIDGE and/or CTSC to various institutional divisions as well as externally to governmental agencies, funding agencies, national organizations, and the general public.
• Travel as necessary for study and hub activities.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Conditions of Employment

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified; two of which are management level experience.

• Bachelor’s degree

Additional Requirements

Due to budgetary constraints, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
