About the role

Enterprises are deploying generative AI and agentic workflows faster than they can secure them, opening a new attack surface across models, APIs, and data. F5's AI Security Platform is our fastest-growing portfolio, and Product Marketing is where capability turns into market belief and revenue.

As Director of Product Marketing for AI Security, you'll own the path from product capability to positioning, sales enablement, qualified pipeline, and competitive wins. You'll be the chief evangelist and strategist for the portfolio, working with Product Management, executives, Field Sales, and industry analysts to establish F5 as the category leader in AI security.

What you'll do

  • Positioning and storytelling
    • Define the narrative: Own the messaging and differentiation framework for the F5 AI Security Platform across AI Guardrails, AI Gateway, AI Red Team, and Workforce AI Security.
    • Speak the CISO's language: Translate technical capability into board-level risk reduction, compliance alignment (OWASP Top 10 for LLMs, NIST AI RMF, EU AI Act), and business value.
    • Thought leadership: Author the flagship content: white papers, keynotes, and customer stories that define how enterprises adopt GenAI and agents securely.
  • Go-to-market and pipeline
    • Drive the revenue multipliers: Systematically move the drivers of revenue: target opportunities in, funnel velocity, win rate, and deal size.
    • Run launches: Lead Tier 1 cross-functional launches, setting the cadence across Demand Gen, Field Marketing, Corporate Comms, and Channel.
    • Analyst relations: Co-lead strategy with Analyst Relations for placement in Gartner Magic Quadrants and Market Guides (AI TRiSM, AI Gateways) and Forrester Wave evaluations.
  • Sales enablement and competitive
    • Field readiness: Arm enterprise reps and SEs with first-call decks, objection handling, demo narratives, and MEDDPICC-aligned playbooks.
    • Competitive intelligence: Keep positioning sharp against platform vendors and emerging point solutions (Palo Alto Prisma AIRS, Cisco AI Defense, Cloudflare, Portkey).
    • Deal support: Act as subject matter expert in strategic customer briefings and lighthouse evaluations.
  • Cross-functional partnership
    • Build (Product Management): Feed customer and competitive insight back into the product roadmap.
    • Sell (Sales, SEs, Channel): Deliver partner-ready messaging and joint value propositions for cloud marketplaces and strategic partners (AWS, Azure, GCP, WWT).
    • Amplify (Demand Gen and Comms): Supply the core message architecture behind digital campaigns, event keynotes (Black Hat, RSA), and webinar tracks.

What you bring

  • Experience: 10+ years of B2B product marketing in enterprise cybersecurity, application or API security, cloud security, or AI infrastructure.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. MBA preferred.
  • Technical credibility: Working knowledge of GenAI application architectures, LLM security risks (prompt injection, data poisoning, jailbreaks), Model Context Protocol (MCP), and agentic workflows.
  • AI-native practitioner: Hands-on with modern generative AI tools and developer platforms (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Ollama, vLLM).
  • Executive presence: Track record of delivering keynotes and engaging directly with Fortune 500 CISOs and security architects.
  • Quantitative rigor: Comfortable instrumenting metrics, analyzing win/loss trends, and testing messaging frameworks.

How we work at F5

  • We are owners: High agency, proactive leadership through ambiguity, and a focus on measurable business impact.
  • We choose speed: Bias toward rapid action, iterative testing, and fast market execution.
  • We help each other thrive: Collaborative team player who mentors junior marketers and elevates cross-functional partners.
