Software configuration analyst - precision fires

SAIC is seeking an experienced Software Configuration Analyst for our Precision Fires program to oversee, implement, and maintain robust software version control systems. In this role, you will be responsible for defining process baselines, ensuring compliance, and coordinating code maintenance across complex development life cycles. You will collaborate with cross-functional engineering and government stakeholders to preserve system integrity, risk, and optimize product delivery. This role is based onsite in Huntsville, AL.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Process Leadership: Perform software management, SCM process audits, and compliance reviews to ensure strict alignment with organizational and regulatory guidelines.
• Azure DevOps Governance: Define, implement, and maintain Azure DevOps (ADO) project configurations, YAML pipeline templates, and branching/merging strategies to ensure secure and standardized release paths.
• Baseline & Documentation Control: Oversee software baseline identification, configuration status accounting, and comprehensive technical documentation control.
• Software Change Management: contribute to Configuration Control Board (CCB) operations, work change request’s (CR) and workflows, and validate submissions for technical completeness and traceability.
• Release Management: Support development, refinement, and enforcement of hardware and software version control policies, code merging strategies, and deployment practices using ADO environments.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with multi-disciplinary groups including engineering, cybersecurity, testing, and program management teams.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field and two (2) years’ experience; Additional six (6) years' experience can be considered in lieu of degree (per contract vehicle).

Clearance Requirements:

• Must possess an active DoW Secret clearance or have the immediate ability to obtain and maintain one; US Citizenship required.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in configuration and data management supporting large-scale Agile, complex software or DoW programs.
• Proficient with DevSecOps and Agile tools such as ADO, Jira, Confluence, Git, and version control repositories.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft SharePoint or equivalent collaboration and document management software, e.g. VDD, SVD, IP etc.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance
• Professional industry certifications such as NDIA CDM, CMII, or ITIL.
• Experience working with prime vendors and defense industry government stakeholders.
• Background working in cloud infrastructure environments.
• Experience working with Microsoft ADO (Azure DevOps).
