Simulation program coordinator

The University of Maryland, Baltimore’s Physician Assistant Program in the School of Graduate Studies has an opportunity for a Simulation Coordinator (Program Coordinator). The Simulation Coordinator will provide operational, technical, and administrative support for simulation-based education activities within the Physician Assistant Program and School of Pharmacy. Working under the direction of the simulation educator, this position assists with the daily operation of simulation laboratories, clinical skills rooms, and Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) spaces by preparing learning environments, coordinating room and equipment set-up and breakdown, maintaining simulation resources, and supporting faculty, staff, standardized patients, and learners.

Primary Duties

• Coordinate activities and functions of simulation laboratories, clinical skills rooms, and OSCE spaces to ensure that goals and objectives for PA Program and School of Pharmacy is accomplished in accordance with scheduled educational activities, established priorities, time limitations, funding limitations or other specifications.
• Coordinate day-to-day activities of the program with inter-related activities of other programs, departments, or staff to ensure optimum efficiency and compliance with appropriate policies, procedures and specifications.
• Support virtual and hybrid simulation activities for the School of Pharmacy and Physician Assistant Program.
• Manage data collection, keep records of program activities: progress, status, and outcomes, and prepare reports for management.
• Recruit program participants, members and volunteers utilizing most appropriate promotional or marketing methods, such as individual letters, brochures, or presentations.
• Assists in the preparation of proposals for funding and/or funding continuation from outside sponsors.
• Interact and maintain liaison with students, faculty, staff and outside/community agencies in facilitating program objectives. Build and maintain strong relationships with community members and partners in order to grow the programming.
• Schedule, market, and promote events of the program by independently developing promotional marketing materials and event plans.
• Maintain inventory of simulation supplies, consumables, task trainers, and equipment. Assist with equipment documentation, maintenance logs, and asset tracking.
• May coordinate, monitor or supervise the activities of work study students, volunteers, and contractual Standardized Patients. Support standardized patient check-in and event flow under the direction of the Simulation Educator.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education:

Bachelor's degree.

Experience:

One (1) year administrative or program coordination experience. Experience in simulation, laboratory operations, or healthcare education support in an administrative or programmatic capacity is preferred.

Other:

Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 undergraduate college credits being equivalent to one year of related experience. In instances where specific education and/or experience is required only directly related education and/or experience may be substituted.

Hiring Range:

$53,500 - $63,000, commensurate with education and experience.
