As a global leader in manufacturing construction materials for the building envelope, we offer anchors and reinforcement, moisture protection, thermal performance, wall estimating software, and air barrier systems for commercial and residential masonry markets.

The Shipping and Receiving Manager leads warehouse, shipping, receiving, and transportation operations to ensure the safe, accurate, cost-effective, and timely movement of materials and finished goods. This role improves organizational performance by developing effective processes, leading employees, optimizing freight and warehouse resources, and monitoring service, productivity, quality, and cost performance.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the development, execution, and continuous improvement of best-in-class warehouse, shipping, receiving, and transportation services that strengthen the customer delivery experience.
• Strategically manage shipping and receiving operations in alignment with company policies, business objectives, and service expectations.
• Provide leadership, direction, coaching, and performance oversight for all shipping and receiving personnel.
• Develop work schedules, assign resources, establish priorities, and evaluate results to support safe and efficient operations.
• Design and maintain effective warehouse layouts and material-flow processes to maximize space utilization, productivity, and safety.
• Oversee stock control and inventory reconciliation, ensuring accurate transactions and alignment with applicable data-management systems.
• Ensure incoming and outgoing products are inspected and verified for conformance with quality, quantity, packaging, and documentation requirements.
• Plan and coordinate transportation activities, including less-than-truckload (LTL), flatbed, full-truckload, and multi-stop shipments, to meet delivery, cost, and customer-service requirements.
• Evaluate freight rates, accessorial charges, transit times, carrier capacity, and service performance to select the most effective transportation solutions.
• Negotiate freight rates, contracts, and service terms with carriers, brokers, and third-party logistics providers (3PLs) while maintaining productive business relationships.
• Use transportation management systems and related technology to plan loads, obtain rates, tender freight, track shipments, manage documentation, and analyze transportation performance.
• Monitor carrier and 3PL performance, address service failures and freight claims, and implement corrective actions to improve reliability and cost control.
• Gather feedback and monitor the quality and effectiveness of warehouse and transportation services.
• Develop, coordinate, and enforce operational policies, standard work, and procedures that support consistent execution and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable warehousing, material-handling, shipping, transportation, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, housekeeping, hygiene, and security throughout the operation.
• Collaborate effectively with customers, suppliers, carriers, 3PL partners, and internal cross-functional teams.
• Maintain reporting tools that clearly communicate warehouse and transportation KPIs, including inventory control, labor utilization, transactional accuracy, fulfillment, freight cost, on-time delivery, and carrier performance.
• Prepare and distribute routine operational reports and statistics, including inbound/outbound status, dead stock, shipment status, freight utilization, and service performance.
• Apply data-analysis and root-cause problem-solving methods to resolve inventory discrepancies, transportation or service failures, and operational inefficiencies.
• Travel approximately 10% to support company facilities and meet with customers, carriers, vendors, and suppliers.
• Perform additional projects, duties, and assignments as directed by senior management.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
• Five or more years of progressive experience supervising warehouse, shipping, receiving, or transportation operations.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse management, inventory control, distribution processes, and operational best practices.
• Experience managing LTL, flatbed, full-truckload, and multi-stop transportation requirements.
• Working knowledge of freight rates, accessorial charges, carrier selection, route planning, and transportation cost analysis.
• Proven ability to negotiate freight rates, contracts, and service terms with carriers, brokers, and third-party logistics providers (3PLs).
• Proficiency with transportation management systems, warehouse management systems, and related shipping, tracking, and reporting tools.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, motivate, and hold teams accountable for safety, quality, service, productivity, and cost performance.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, basic statistics, operational reporting, and warehouse and transportation KPIs.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage changing priorities, meet deadlines, and drive continuous improvement.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
