Senior Software Engineer – Research & Development (WA)

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software solutions across the full stack using Python, React, and Java
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including product management, UX/UI, and QA—to define, design, and ship new features
• Lead technical design reviews and provide guidance on architecture, best practices, and coding standards
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, ensuring scalability and reliability of applications
• Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence
• Contribute to research initiatives, prototypes, and proof-of-concepts that drive innovation within the organization
• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and agile ceremonies to ensure timely delivery of project milestones
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for developed systems, APIs, and services

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 3–30 years of professional software development experience
• Proficiency in Python, React, and Java with a strong understanding of object-oriented design and functional programming principles
• Demonstrated experience in building and deploying web applications, microservices, or distributed systems
• Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies
• Experience with version control systems such as Git and collaborative development workflows (e.g., pull requests, code reviews)
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound technical decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of effective collaboration

Nice to Have:

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
• Familiarity with data engineering or machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Spark)
• Background in performance optimization and high-throughput system design
• Participation in open-source projects or contributions to technical communities
