Senior radar engineer

SAIC is seeking a Senior Radar Engineer to join the STARS OSM Software Development Team providing MDS Sensor modeling to support warfighter training and exercises.

This position will sit at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform radar systems analysis, deep dive customer noted issues through root cause identification and resolution, simplify tactical radar algorithms to representative effects that can function in real-time, and document results for technical briefings to end-users and project leadership.
• Developing analysis tools through MATLAB / Python and helping to guide more junior team members to ensure a consistent framework/interoperability of developed analysis tools.
• Working daily on-site at a government customer facility on a multi-contractor team and interacting regularly with industry partners and the government customer.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education:

• Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; four (4) years of experience considered in lieu of degree.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience working with radar systems, simulations, and electronic warfare, preferably within the defense sector.
• Familiarity with compiled software languages such as C/C++, and competence in a broad array of radar topics such as detection theory, tracking, waveform scheduling, and object classification.
• Position requires strong analysis skills, including analysis experience using MATLAB or Python.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with modeling & simulation of radar systems.
• Experience working with radar systems, simulations, and electronic warfare, preferably within the defense sector.

Required Clearance:

• Active Secret Security Clearance.
