Security control assessor

SAIC is seeking a Communications Systems Engineer to act as a Security Control Assessor to provide onsite systems engineering and technical advisory (SETA) services in support of a SAIC Prime Program at the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) in Hawthorne, CA.

As the Security Control Assessor, you will support a Government customer with multiple satellite systems, both on-orbit and in development. You will also support communication systems, network, and crypto acquisition activities for multiple major satellite programs. The job requires familiarity with NRO organization, processes, and satellite systems.

Job Responsibilities to include:

• Support the System Program Office (SPO) in an acquisition capacity for planning, execution, monitoring, and oversight of communication, network, and crypto acquisitions.
• Conduct independent assessments of management, operational, and technical security controls. Support faster RMF processing and security assessment reporting.
• Develop documents and briefings to communicate work or study status, briefs Government and industry as required.
• Support Contract Officer Technical Representatives (COTRs) and Developers by coordinating with other acquisition domain SMEs and program stakeholders to develop, modify, and maintain contract documentation.
• Review Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) deliverables to ensure content, accuracy, and sufficiency to meet program requirements and objectives.
• Participate in program reviews and technical interchange meetings between developers and COTR.
• Travel is required and may occur once a month.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Poly.
• Understanding and experience with how space communication, network, and crypto systems are designed, specified, developed, manufactured, and tested.
• Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and information security policies and standards.
• Experience with NRO satellite systems.
• Available to travel domestically up to 25%.
