Job Description

Geoquest USA, Inc. (formerly The Reinforced Earth Company) is recognized as the inventor and market leader of the MSE (Mechanically Stabilized Earth) retaining wall industry. The company provides the design and supply of materials of proprietary retaining wall systems and earth related technologies to contractors and owners for use in civil engineering. Our company works as a sub-contractor/material supplier on DOT and privately owned projects. We perform all duties associated with our jobs from sales, marketing, civil engineering/design, supply, and construction support.

The Sector Manager - Mining is responsible for developing and executing Geoquest's North American mining-sector growth strategy across North America. The position leads high-level customer relationships and coordinates opportunities that intersect Geoquest's full portfolio rather than managing a single product line.

This individual will serve as the voice of the mining customer within Geoquest NA, connect market needs to the appropriate business units, and create integrated opportunities involving MSE systems, corrugated steel arches, wire walls, geosynthetics, precast solutions, geohazard protection, and installation services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

SECTOR STRATEGY AND GROWTH

  • Develop and execute Geoquest's North American mining-sector strategy.
  • Identify and prioritize target customers, geographic markets, capital projects, and long-term growth opportunities.
  • Build annual sector plans, revenue objectives, strategic-account priorities, and market-development initiatives.
  • Develop a qualified mining opportunity pipeline and coordinate pursuit priorities across business units.
  • Identify opportunities for new solutions, partnerships, manufacturing capabilities, and acquisitions that strengthen Geoquest's mining-sector position.

CUSTOMER AND INDUSTRY LEADERSHIP

  • Engage customers early in project planning, feasibility, design, and capital-budgeting stages.
  • Represent Geoquest at mining conferences, technical forums, customer meetings, and relevant industry associations.
  • Position Geoquest as a single, integrated solutions partner for mining infrastructure.

CROSS-SELLING AND INTEGRATED SOLUTIONS

  • Lead collaboration across Geoquest product lines, regions, engineering teams, manufacturing operations, and installation capabilities.
  • Identify projects where multiple Geoquest systems can be combined to improve customer value, project certainty, schedule, safety, or lifecycle performance.
  • Coordinate integrated opportunities involving MSE and crusher walls, haul-road structures, corrugated steel arches and buried structures, wire walls, geosynthetics, precast products, geohazard systems, and installation services.
  • Ensure mining opportunities are assigned to the appropriate commercial and technical teams while maintaining sector-level visibility and coordination.

MARKET INTELLIGENCE AND COMMERCIAL LEADERSHIP

  • Maintain current knowledge of mining investment trends, active and planned projects, customer capital programs, permitting activity, competitors, and emerging technologies.
  • Prepare market assessments, strategic-account plans, pipeline reviews, and sector-performance updates for senior management.
  • Support major pursuits, customer presentations, value propositions, partnership discussions, and commercial strategy.
  • Work with Product Line Managers to translate mining-customer needs into product-development and capability priorities.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, mining engineering, geological engineering, construction management, business, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience directly related to the mining sector.
  • Demonstrated experience working with mine owners, operators, EPCM firms, consultants, contractors, or mining-infrastructure suppliers.
  • Proven ability to develop executive and technical customer relationships and convert market insight into business opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of mining infrastructure, mine-site development, project delivery, and capital-project decision processes.
  • Experience with engineered civil products, construction systems, geotechnical solutions, or infrastructure services.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout North America.

PREFERRED

  • Professional Engineer designation or comparable technical credential.
  • MBA or advanced technical or business degree.
