Position: Science Teacher - mid-year roles this Fall

Locations: 47 Great Hearts Academies located in Texas, Arizona & Louisiana - Texas - Dallas/Fort Worth, Irving, Arlington, and San Antonio. Arizona - Metro Phoenix schools and Louisiana - Baton Rouge

Work Authorization - US work authorization is required, but we do accept OPT/CPT candidates. Great Hearts is a growing, multi-state network of 47 public, open-enrollment charter schools, committed to provide a high-quality, classical liberal arts education to 30,000 K-12 students in Arizona, Louisiana, and Texas.

Requirements

Certification is not required to teach at any of the Great Hearts Academies. Great Hearts teachers hold a bachelor's degree or higher and demonstrate both a love for the breadth of the liberal arts, and a depth of knowledge in the subject area(s) they teach. All candidates must be able to demonstrate they are qualified to teach the subjects they are assigned.

Science Curriculum at Great Hearts:

• Life Science
• Earth Science
• Physical Science
• Physics (I - Mechanics and II - E&M)
• Chemistry
• Biology

Science courses are not taught with a utilitarian aim, but rather, primarily for the sake of the subjects themselves, as awe-inspiring, intellectually stimulating, and beautiful. Science courses are rigorous and content-rich, with a focus on laboratory and field experience.
