Job Description

Bob Boyte Chevrolet is looking for an experienced, driven Sales Manager who can lead a team, desk deals, protect profitability, and most importantly: help us sell more cars.

We are looking for a hands-on leader who understands how to balance volume, gross, inventory, customer experience, and team development. This is not a position for someone who simply wants to sit behind a desk. We want a manager who gets involved, coaches people, helps close deals, and knows how to create momentum in a dealership.

At Bob Boyte Chevrolet, we believe volume creates opportunity. More sales create more gross dollars, more F&I opportunity, more trades, more future service customers, and stronger market share. At the same time, we expect our managers to understand when to protect gross and when taking a reasonable deal is the better business decision.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, motivate, and hold the sales team accountable.
  • Desk and structure new and used vehicle deals accurately and efficiently.
  • Work directly with salespeople to overcome objections and close difficult deals.
  • Maintain focus on both unit volume and total dealership profitability.
  • Monitor daily and monthly sales pace, gross, PVR, and manufacturer objectives.
  • Review inventory aging and help develop strategies to move aged units.
  • Assist with trade appraisals and understand ACV, trade allowance, and over-allowance.
  • Work closely with the General Manager, Used Car Manager, and F&I team.
  • Maintain strong CRM discipline and ensure timely follow-up on leads and unsold traffic.
  • Train and develop salespeople on process, prospecting, closing, and customer communication.
  • Maintain a high-energy, competitive, positive sales environment.
  • Ensure customers are treated professionally and issues are resolved quickly.
  • Follow dealership policies and maintain accurate deal documentation.
  • Help drive strong CSI and customer-retention results.

What Success Looks Like

The Sales Manager will be evaluated on a combination of:

  • Total retail units
  • New and used vehicle sales
  • Front-end gross
  • Front-end PVR
  • Total gross dollars
  • Inventory turn
  • Aged inventory
  • Manufacturer objective attainment
  • Salesperson productivity
  • Closing performance
  • CRM execution
  • Customer satisfaction
  • Team development
  • Overall dealership profitability

We do not believe one number tells the whole story. The right manager understands how volume, gross, inventory, and customer experience work together.

Qualifications

  • Automotive sales management experience preferred.
  • Proven success in retail automotive sales.
  • Strong deal-structuring and desking skills.
  • Strong understanding of front-end gross and trade economics.
  • Experience managing both volume and profitability.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and coaching skills.
  • Strong CRM and dealership-management-system knowledge.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Customer-focused mindset.
  • Chevrolet or General Motors experience is a plus but not required.

The Bob Boyte Mindset

We are looking for a manager who understands that the goal is not simply to hold the most gross on every individual deal.

The goal is to make the best decision for the overall dealership.

Sometimes that means holding more gross.

Sometimes that means taking a reasonable deal and putting another unit on the board.

Sometimes that means being aggressive on an aged vehicle.

The right Sales Manager knows the difference.

We want someone who comes to work every day asking:

  • How many cars can we sell today?
  • How can I make my team better?
  • How can I help the dealership become more profitable?

Why Bob Boyte Chevrolet

Bob Boyte Chevrolet is part of Boyte Auto Family, an organization focused on growth, strong leadership, employee development, customer service, and building high-performing dealership teams.

We are looking for someone who wants responsibility, accountability, and the opportunity to help grow the business.
