Shift: Full Time; 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM + Every 3rd weekend & every other holiday

Join Our Team as an ICU Registered Nurse! The SICU is an 8-bed surgical intensive care unit providing specialized care for acutely ill post-operative patients. Our team manages a wide range of advanced therapies and technologies, including intra-aortic balloon pumps, CRRT, and vasoactive medication infusions. Nurses receive extensive training in the recovery and ongoing care of immediate post-operative open-heart patients. In addition to cardiac surgery, the unit cares for a diverse mix of trauma, thoracic, vascular, and abdominal surgery patients.

Responsibilities

Delivers high quality care utilizing the nursing process while demonstrating knowledge and clinical skills of the specialty required on assigned unit in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards of care.

Consults appropriate resources within the hospital to provide specialized education.

Demonstrates knowledge that patient and workplace safety is a priority by preventing errors, accidents and infections and reporting potential or actual concerns immediately.

Promptly completes documentation to assure an accurate legal record of patient’s care.

Continues professional development and involvement in professional activities that enhance nursing practice by sharing knowledge through networking and research.

Qualifications

Education:

Diploma from an RN program.

License(s)/Certification(s):

• Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in primary state.
• Must apply within 90 days for licensure in secondary state.
• Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Must possess and maintain ACLS.
