Registered Nurse (RN II)-Interventional & Diagnostic Radiology

Work hours: Day shift, full-time, 40 hours weekly; call, some weekend call and some holidays required

Department highlights:

Our experienced and compassionate team provides care for Interventional Radiology patients undergoing a wide variety of procedures, including biopsies, drain placements, and other minimally invasive treatments requiring specialized monitoring and nursing care. In this role, you will work across multiple Radiology service areas, managing a dynamic schedule, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities include:

• Monitoring pacemaker patients undergoing MRI procedures
• Providing procedural sedation support in Ultrasound and CT
• Assisting with Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE), Cardioversion procedures
• Delivering nursing care for Cardiac CTA patients

This position offers a unique opportunity to develop expertise across several advanced imaging and procedural specialties while making a meaningful impact on patient outcomes.

Here’s What You Need

Education:

Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred

Experience:

One (1) year experience as a clinical Registered Nurse or completion of an RN Residency program required

Licensure and Certifications:

• RN- Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire required
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support (prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly) required

Skills:

• A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
• RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient care
• The professional nurse exhibits understanding of basic human needs and demonstrates recognition and understanding of patient’s affiliations

What You Will Do

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
• Assesses the patient
• Plans the care of the patient
• Intervenes as appropriate and evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
