Position Overview

Join Bronson South Haven Hospital's Emergency Department and make a difference when patients need it most. As an ED RN, you'll provide compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals with urgent and emergent medical needs in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

What You'll Do

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process
• Perform rapid assessments and prioritize care based on patient acuity
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with clinical standards
• Monitor patient condition and respond quickly to changes
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge needs
• Delegate appropriate tasks within scope of practice
• Accurately document patient care and outcomes

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• BSN required within eight (8) years of hire

Licensure

Current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing

Certifications

BLS required upon completion of orientation

Emergency Department Requirements

• Within 90 Days of Hire: SALT Triage, ESI Triage, NIH Stroke Scale
• Within 6 Months of Hire: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) (required for full-time and part-time RNs)

Additional Qualifications

• Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills
• Effective verbal, written, and electronic communication skills
• Ability to interpret clinical data and develop appropriate plans of care
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced emergency care environment

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and patient handling
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work in an environment requiring sustained concentration and attention to detail
