The role of the Quality Systems Engineer is to create and implement Quality systems and procedures at Oatey manufacturing and distribution sites in accordance with the Corporate Quality Standards. The Quality Systems Engineer provides training to associates on new or revised Quality systems and procedures. The Quality Systems Engineer manages the site level Internal Auditing program and reports results to the Corporate Quality Systems Manager. With compliant Quality systems in place, Oatey accomplishes one of its primary purposes to deliver quality to our customers, which is accomplished through consistency in operations and reduction of manufactured product variation and nonconformance.
Prior experience as a QMS Auditor in a manufacturing environment, 3-5 years of related experience is required. Strong knowledge of quality standards, such as ISO 9001, and relevant regulatory requirements. Proficiency in audit techniques, documentation review, and quality control methods. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Problem-solving skills and the ability to drive corrective and preventive actions. Familiarity with relevant quality management software tools and systems.
American Society for Quality (ASQ) Quality Engineer certification or Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) training preferred. Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Operations, or relevant equivalent experience in lieu of degree. Professional certifications related to quality management (e.g., Certified Quality Auditor, Certified Quality Engineer) is a plus.
